Simple Photography Course: Essex Training
What everyone loves about this easy to understand, photography training course is that it does what is says on the label.
No jargon is used, I avoid any techno speak and you can simple rock up with any digital camera whatsoever – from a smart phone to a DSLR camera. So if you are new to photography then this simple photography course is for you.
West Mersea Photo Walk
For this Essex Photography Walk we visited the seaside – the island of Mersea. We were again blessed with fantasitc weather and with it being half term there were plenty of people and things to photograph
On arrival everyone introduced themselves and then I gave a few minutes to explain what we would be doing. With simple direction given and a few suggestions recommended it was time to get down to some photography.
For this half day photo training session we had people from teenagers up to those who are semi-retired and all with different levels of experience. We headed along the jetty and the idea was to look beyond how they would usually take a photograph and think of different aspects of their surroundings. This could include textures, colours, angles, heights, light, shadows and reflections.
I always get excited when someone comes up to me to show a photograph they have taken that is not only a great photo but also it has been composed in a way that it totally new to them.
Away from the jetty we photographed around the boat yards, the cottages and the sea front. Of course no photography visit to Mersea is complete without a visit to the famous pastel-coloured beach huts.
After we had finished we visited a local cafe for food and drink, to look at our photographs and to exchange experiences from the session.
