Off Camera Flash Workshop Essex
People had traveled from Essex, Suffolk, London, kent and Herts to attend my Lifestyle Portrait Course.
The day starts with an intro session covering equipment needed. We then look at the different styles of Lifestyle Photography before heading off to our first location. For the Lifestyle Portrait Course we used three models. The idea of the locations we use to show that you can simply use anywhere to great photographs. We look at the lighting, textures, colours and the backgrounds. Training is given on camera setting and lens choices.
To make the course more practical, professional models are never used. Instead we have real people that you’re likely to photograph yourself. The photo sessions include directing the subject, available light and embracing the surroundings. Everyone attending has plenty of time and opportunity to direct the models so they can put together their own portfolio of photographs.
After lunch, a second practical photography session was done at a different venue. The session also included off camera flash, teaching everyone how to use remote triggers, speedlites, coloured gels and portable softboxes. This is a great way to get creative with lighting to capture some stunning photographs. The day is concluded by viewing the images and making adjustments with Photoshop to create individual styles.
