Half Day Short Photography Courses Essex
This week saw the start of this year’s Photography Walks in Essex. The setting was the lovely village of Finchingfield and we were blessed with gorgeous weather.
Starting the day I went through camera set up and simple tips to help take the best village landscape photographs, these included…
- Working with Horizons
- Capturing Movement
- Leading Lines
- Rule of Thirds
- Identifying a Focal Point
- Depth of Field
- Creating the Scene
The idea of the course is to keeping it simple, with no techno-speak and avoiding unnecessary jargon. You can have any camera from a simple point and shoot all the way up to a DSLR camera.
We started at the pond, with plenty of ducks and geese and it also has a couple of small bridges. This provided everyone photo opportunities of reflections, wildlife and village life.
We wandered up the hill and into the church grounds. Inside the church everyone learnt about photographing architecture and taking photos in low light.
When visiting this village you must go take a look at the windmill, which we did. Although not open to the public the day we were there we still had the opportunity to get some great shots of this piece of history. We looked at getting great angles and creating the best focal point.
The course was approximately 3 hours and then we finished off by having a drink and lunch outside the Fox Inn pub.
All in all, a great session with fun people in a lovely setting and wonderful weather.
